Santta Monica Rocks

Posted By Kathy Zurich-Lunsford, Friday, December 1, 2017
Join the Citywide Community Art Treasure Hunt: Santa Monica Rocks!

Are your kids playing Santa Monica Rocks? Here's how to play: Paint, draw, stencil, wrap, glue something on, or otherwise embellish a rock. Write #SantaMonicaRocks on the back (a black Sharpie works well). If possible, protect your rock creation with a spray or paint-on shellac like Mod Podge (plain white glue also does the trick). Now, hide your beautiful stone somewhere in Santa Monica, like at a park, a favorite cafe, or even your front yard. You can also post a picture of it online on our Instagram @santamonicarocks or join and post on our Facebook group and give some clues as to its location. If YOU find a rock, take a photo and post it to our Facebook group or Instagram, then hide it somewhere else or keep it and replace it with a rock of your own design.

For more information, go to our Facebook page (facebook.com/groups/santamonicarocks) and follow-us on Instagram @santamonicarocks.
