As you may already know, all of the Lincoln List emails are created and sent out by parent volunteers. For years, these parents have used a company called Mail Chimp to 1) keep track of the Lincoln List subscriber list and 2) generate the emails.
As you may also already know, Lincoln now has a new website: WWW.LMSPTSA.ORG. In addition to being a basic website that you can use to find out about what's happening at school, the LMSPTSA.ORG system can also be used to create and send emails out to a large group of people. It's the same system that Roosevelt Elementary uses to email information to its parents.
BEGINNING IN JANUARY, THE PTSA PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE GOING TO START SENDING THE LINCOLN LIST EMAILS TO THE LMSPTSA.ORG MEMBER DATABASE. Unfortunately, we can't just import all of the current mail chimp subscriber data into the new LMSPTSA.ORG system because we don't have first and last names for many of you. SO IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE THE LINCOLN LIST EMAILS, YOU'LL WILL HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE NEW WEBSITE.
PLEASE READ THE SHORT INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU SIGN UP. YOU'LL BE ASKED FOR YOUR LAST NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS TO SEE IF YOU MATCH AN EXISTING RECORD FROM THIS MAIL CHIMP DATABASE. We were able to import some people but they are not "active" members. If you are a match, then you'll be able to "activate" your record and continue to register. If not, then you will be asked to sign up through the regular process.
We are going to be sending out reminder emails like this one to this mail chimp database throughout December and well into next year. We understand that this is a transition and we do not want to leave anyone behind.
TO SUMMARIZE: 1. In January, The PTSA will start to use a new subscriber database for the Lincoln List emails. 2. If you want to continue to receive the Lincoln List emails, you'll need to sign up for the new website at www.lmsptsa.org.

The Lincoln List transition will begin after January 1. The emails from this website will be sent from News@lmsptsa.org. Please add that email address to your email address book to ensure delivery of the emails.

I agree with Sheila and I thought I signed up for the emails already but I am not getting any. Are they not being sent or am i not on the list? ksimon522@gmail.com Thanks!
I suggest that an instructional meeting be held in January 2012 on how to use this new website, either as part of a PTSA meeting, or as an extra Parent Education meeting.
It would be be helpful if this meeting could include a demonstration of the new PTSA website, it's functionalities and how to navigate it. This might also include a short introduction to "Using Facebook For Parents" which several parents requested at our last PTSA meeting on internet safety.
