Creative Writing Workshops

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, September 3, 2014

My name is Steve Lewis, and I run the LA branch of Writopia Lab, an arts education non-profit dedicated to providing children and teens with creative writing workshops led by published authors and produced playwrights.

We're just wrapping up a successful summer at our locations in Santa Monica, Encino, and Silverlake, earning recognition from CBS Local as a "Best of LA" educational offering, and this fall we're thrilled to announce we'll be offering our full slate of after-school and weekend workshops starting September 15th in Santa Monica, at the First Presbyterian Church on 2nd Street.

Writopia Lab

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Writopia Lab is an arts education non-profit providing kids and teens with creative writing workshops led by published authors and produced playwrights/screenwriters. In workshops, instructors guide students through the creative process as students compose short stories, plays/screenplays, poetry, and memoirs that they can take pride in and submit for publication and award recognition. Last year, Writopia students won Scholastic Gold Key Awards and the prestigious YoungArts Writing Prize -- one of only 25 in the nation.

Workshops are ongoing and enrollment is on a rolling basis.

All groups are capped at 6 students each.

Great for committed and reluctant writers alike.
