nfirming school closures until further notice and likely beyond April 20. Dr. Drati's letter provides information on  a new Family Resources website, with pages dedicated to Distance Learning, Instructional Resources, Special Education and Community Resources.

The letter includes links to an FAQ document answering questions parents might have about distance learning, testing (including SATs and ACTs), grading, expectations, graduation and other school-related activities. 

Finally, the letter reminds parents about the District's ongoing meal service for students and computer access during the closure. See the letter here.



Important: Meals Service Time Change
SMMUSD continues to provide grab-and-go bagged breakfast and lunch Monday - Friday for all students under the age of 18. Please note that the service time is changing to 8 - 10 a.m. effective Tuesday March 24, 2020. Service is through April 3, 2020.



Affordable Home Internet for Qualifying Families
Does your family have concerns about the cost of Home Internet? Families with students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program, amongst others, might qualify for affordable Home Internet (from $10 per month).  Please see this flyer from the the California State PTA for further information. 



Yearbooks & 8th Grade Tributes!  
8th Grade Families: Yearbook tributes are now on sale for $50 each. See attached flyer for purchase instructions. The deadline to purchase and create your tribute is April 3.

Tributes are a great way to celebrate your child's graduation from middle school. It is a 1/4 page ad placed in the back pages of the yearbook. Send them off to high school with good wishes and memories! Be creative - you can do a photo collage, a poem, an illustration, or anything else you can think of. One tribute per family per student. All tributes are approved by the yearbook staff before they are included. 

All families: Yearbooks are $50 each and will be delivered near the end of the school year. Purchase link:


Fri 04/03 ISPE Log Submission Deadline
For students currently enrolled in ISPE, the activity log deadline is Friday April 3. Logs should be submitted by email (photo or scanned copy) to Assistant Principal Keleher. Please include all activities up to March 12.   


ISPE Applications for 2020/21 now available
Independent Study Physical Education (ISPE) applications for the 2020/21 school year are now available on the LMS website. Applications are due April 24, 2020. This date may be updated based on any additional school closures.  For full information, and for application forms, please see here.
